Meet the Puppets!

This season, Dickens’ Christmas Towne is teaming up with one of the nation’s premier entertainment providers to create an entirely new theatrical experience.  Performance artists, magicians, incredible jugglers, actors, carolers and musicians will all take center stage.  We’re also proud to present the Pickwick Puppet Theatre – a cast of amazing characters making their stage debut!  Learn more about them below, then come join the fun!

Charles Dickens

In 1843, celebrated author Charles Dickens introduced A Christmas Carol to the world. His beloved characters have become household names – Tiny Tim, Ebenezer Scrooge and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future are known around the world. Come join us us this season as the Pickwick Puppet Theatre presents the timeless tale.

Despite his illness, Tiny Tim is the happiest, bravest little boy in all of London. “God bless us, every one!”

Scrooge’s nephew loves Christmas! It’s the time of year when his house is filled with music and games – including his favorite, blindman’s buff.

Belle

The one that got away. Belle is Scrooge’s young love. Though she adored him once, he turned into a Humbug.

Solicitor Two

One of two brave gentlemen who ask Scrooge for a donation on Christmas Eve “…to buy the poor some meat and drink, and means of warmth.”

Ebenezer Scrooge

Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas all in one night. The miserly owner of a London counting-house is visited by three spirits and becomes a changed man.

Bob Cratchit

Two words: good guy. That’s Bob Cratchit. Scrooge’s clerk is a kind, mild-mannered man with a big family.

Fred’s wife. Part of a musical, joyous family with “…the sunniest pair of eyes you ever saw.”

Who knew? Scrooge was a pretty good guy when he was younger. He and his girlfriend Belle were “…both poor and content to be so.”

She’s the glue that keeps the Cratchit clan together. Oh, and what a cook! You haven’t lived until you’ve tasted her roasted goose, mashed potatoes and Christmas pudding! Mmmmm…

Let’s get this party started! Mr. Fezziwig’s Christmas ball is a highlight of the year for his entire staff, including young Ebenezer Scrooge.
